Nat Greene Fly Fishers Newsletter October 2016
October 11th, Tuesday @ 7pm Leonard Recreation Center - Curtis Reeves will talk about Euro style nymphing. Most of us depend on a strike indicator to tell us what is happening to our nymph. Curtis will explain how to get the fly down to the bottom using longer rods, and short and controlled cast. With no strike indicator you can keep your flies deep by simply raising or lowering your rod tip.
November 8th, Tuesday @ 7pm Leonard Recreation Center - Jim Brady will talk about the Anatomy of a Trout Stream. The talk will focus on the physical aspects of streams with a smattering of fish and insect biology thrown in.
December 13th, Tuesday @ 7pm Leonard Recreation Center - Martin Bawden, CEO Flymen Fishing Co. will speak about their innovative tying products and how they can improve your flies.
** The Banquet Committee has finalized the details for the 2017 Banquet and Seminar; mark your calendars!
Greg Ward will be our speaker. He is a well-known expert on Smokey Mountain Trout Fishing, and owner of Rocky Top Outfitters.

WEBSITE SUPPORT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
We need a tech savvy volunteer or volunteers to step up and take over responsibility for the operation and further development of our website. Laura Kennerly has done an excellent job getting us started by using our website as a means for making announcements regarding Chapter activities. We would like to expand the site to make it a little more interactive. For example, perhaps to include tying tutorials, fishing reports and a section where members can find fishing partners to share costs for trips. We do not want to increase the level of "info blasts" we send out but rather, to make the site more informative and user friendly. WordPress is very easy to learn. If you have experience with website development or as a webmaster or just want to help in some way please contact Laura Kennerly at 336-707-7665 or email .
We need our membership to take an active role in suggesting speakers or activities for our monthly meetings. We need a three or more person committee that will solicit ideas from members, research potential speakers and make suggestions to the Chapter leadership. By getting more members involved via the committee process I think it will make it an easier task to find speakers or to have some fun things to do at our meetings. Please consider helping work on this committee and contact me at 336-455-1457 or at email .
We meet 2nd Tuesday of the month @ 7pm at LEONARD RECREATION CENTER 6324 Ballinger Rd., Greensboro, NCTU/IFFF
Membership: Everyone accepted Dues: None! Door Prize at every meeting!
Please contact Laura Kennerly 336-707-7665 lkennerly for more details.
